The Oak King, and his counterpart, the Holly King, are twin aspects of the God Cernunnos. The Oak King rules from the Winter Solstice to the Summer Solstice. Midsummer’s Day marks the end of the reign of the Oak King, who rules the lighter part of the year, from Winter Solstice to Summer Solstice. At the Summer Solstice, the Holly King conquers the Oak King, and returns as a newborn babe to rule the darker part of the year, from Summer Solstice to Winter Solstice, when the Oak King shall return again.

Invoke the Oak King in matters of creativity, manifestation or waxing energies. If the Oak King appears to you, it is time to get ready to get busy!
