The Modron, pronounced “MAH-drawn,” is the Great Mother. This Goddess of the Harvest is also the mother of the Mabon, the Golden Child that is the rebirth of the Sun at the winter solstice. She is said to sometimes appear as a washerwoman, and because of this she is sometimes associated with the Mórrígan. She is a Goddess of change and transition.
Hawthorn trees are her sacred plants, and wolves and birds of prey are her sacred animals.
Invoke the Modron when you need a change from darkness into light. When the Modron enters your life, prepare to defend the powerless and defenseless with your own strength, and with her help.
