Latobius, pronounced “la-TOH-be-us,” is a mountain God worshiped primarily in Austria and other parts of Gaul. He is a warrior God, and as the God of the High Places, he is a protector and a maker of strongholds. Latobius is also a tutor God, especially in the ways of warfare in defense of the tribe. He is the father of the tribe, and has all the masculine nurturing characteristics of that role.

Plants that grow on mountains and in high places are sacred to Latobius. This would include plants like the mountain laurel and rhododendrons. Eagles, hawks, and mountain goats (rams) are his animals.

Invoke Latobius when creating protective sacred spaces and Groves. If Latobius has become a part of your life, it is time to study the ways of resolving conflicts so that you may protect you and your own.
