Represents: Transition, caution, mindfulness

The Crow totem is a powerful ally. He is associated with the Morrigan; the Celtic Goddess of battle, honor, and sovereignty. Crow is a highly intelligent bird and the keeper of personal integrity.

If you have a Crow totem, your task is to be mindful of your opinions and actions and how they impact others. You must be willing to walk your talk, to speak your truth and to know your life’s mission.

Crow is an omen of change. Crow lives in the void and has no sense of time, therefore, it sees past, present and future simultaneously. This gives Crow the ability to see all possible outcomes and to evaluate how they might change with a given action.

Crow merges both light and dark, both inner and outer. It is the totem of the Goddess of Conquest and must be respected as such. Crows are symbols of creation and spiritual strength. This is because Crow is a psychopomp. “Psychopomp” means “soul carrier.” Crows carry the souls of the recently departed to the Land of the Young. This power gives them access to all of the wisdom of the Ancestors.

If Crow is your totem, look for opportunities to create and manifest the magic of life. Don’t try to figure Crow out, as he is the embodiment of mystery and hidden knowledge. Instead, follow his guidance by trusting your intuition and the wisdom of the dark places.

Crow people are the guardians of ceremonial magic and the deeper mysteries of existence. Their ability to fly high helps them to see the bigger picture that others may miss. Their actions may sometimes seem paradoxical because of this. They may act in ways that do not make sense in the short term, but that will accomplish long term goals that nobody else can see.

Crows are loners by nature. They dwell in the in-between places and see things that others cannot. Because of this ability they may sometimes seem odd, or strange, or out of step with others. Crows don’t generally feel it necessary to change things about themselves in order to fit in with the crowd, so they can sometimes be isolated. This doesn’t mean that they are always lonely. They can always access the wisdom of the Ancestors for guidance and companionship, and since they are very comfortable in their own skin, they are often their own best company.

If Crow is your totem, look for a life of mystery, wisdom and learning.
