Branwen, pronounced “BRAHN-oo-en,” is a Welsh Goddess. Her name means “white raven.” Forced to marry the Irish king Matholwch against her will, she endured an unhappy marriage where she was treated like a slave. The people of Ireland complained of their foreign queen, and this led to war between Ireland and Wales.

Branwen is the Goddess of lost causes and heartbreak. Starlings are birds that are sacred to her, and witch hazel is her sacred herb.

Invoke her to heal a broken heart or to protect from unwanted romantic advances. If Branwen appears to you, be prepared for a turbulent love life.
